Jakuchū Itō Galleries

Jakuchū (1716-1800) was primarily a painter but some of his artwork was also published in woodblock-printed picture books. The titles of three of these books are shown below. To see their pictures of flowers and birds click on a title. Jakuchū drew his flower and bird subjects using a style that combined elements of Chinese painting and Japanese paintings by Ogata Kōrin.
